The Lab is a Tile Improvement that provides science for your town and generates beakers. The Lab consumes some items that are stored in the input chest or the Warehouse's input chest. In return it provides a good amount of beakers every hour at Hourly Tick. If the structure runs out of items to feed the Lab, it will start starving and might level down after some time. They also won't generate any beakers during the starvation/stagnation, so it's important to keep the the structure stocked at all times.

If you wish, you can input Lapis Blocks as well and it will give you back the spare lapis.

It's very important to keep this structure safe during War-Time since if it gets destroyed it will lose 24 XP points and it will not generate any Culture until the Lab is repaired.
You can upgrade your Labs to a higher level. Doing this will allow you to feed your Labs to that level. This means you will get more income from it.
To level up to the next level, your town requires one of the following technologies; Education, Energy Study, Agency or Experimentation.
